There have been many historical attempts in literature to create a fictional Utopia--A new idea for the optimal utilitarian society. Most of these ideas fail because the conclusions on societal operation do not follow from the construct of the premises. Psychedelic adventurer, novelist, and mushroom muncher Aldous Huxley did not come up short on any of those grounds. He flat out succeeded. His Island would be the best place to born, to live, and to grow old possible.
Another phenomenal read!
Thank you, and yes you are correct!
If I am not mistaken, the book is simply called “Island.” Thanks for the reviews and your awesome blogs & poetry!
I’m just ready for a new book, and I think i’ll take your rec! Thanks!
Interesting review. I haven’t read The Island yet, I’ll have to look into it. I would suggest After Many a Summer Dies the Swan by Huxley as well. Another thought provoking read.
